Each player has two cards and can either raise or fold. In the end the highest ranked hand wins. The game is played with a standard 52-card deck of playing cards.<\/p>\n<p>The game is played by a group of people sitting around a table. Before the game begins one person shuffles the deck and then cuts it in half. This person then becomes the first dealer for the hand. The dealer can change after each hand if no player wants to be the dealer for that particular round.<\/p>\n<p>Players are dealt five cards and must make a five card poker hand from their personal cards as well as the community cards on the board. A hand must consist of a minimum of a pair. A pair is formed when a player has two cards of the same rank. A flush is when all five cards are of the same suit and a straight is a sequence of cards of consecutive rank but different suits.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most important concepts in poker is to always be in position. It is very difficult to win money in a poker hand if you are out of position. The best way to improve your chances of being in position is to practice and watch other experienced players. This will help you develop quick instincts. It is important to avoid actions that will put you out of position as much as possible.
